Who am I?

My name is Branden Ollhoff and I have been in IT for over a decade.

In the datacenter

I have spent a good portion of time physically in the datacenter. Racking and cabling anything you can think of. Being remote hands. Completing maintenance by connecting to a box to provide remote connectivity. Moving hardware from one place to another. Making and testing ethernet cable.

  • Routers/Firewalls - Mostly Cisco, I run pfsense at home

  • Switches - Mostly Cisco, some HP and Juniper

  • Servers - HP, Dell, Supermicro

  • Storage - HP, Pure, Dell/EMC (a lot of Isilon)

Working Remotely

Working with remote hands and logging into OOB and/or IPMI to solve issues. Lots of hands on experience remotely logging into network gear, linux servers, Windows servers, and a ton of VMware vsphere.

Almost anything you can think of I’ve logged into it as some point or another. I enjoy trying to solve complex problems and working with others to accomplish a goal.
